The Legacy Audio i·V8 at $10,000 is the flagship of Legacy's standard amplifier series: eight channels of 610-watt ICEedge amplification in a single chassis. It powers the most complex home theater and multi-room installations from one unit: 7.1 systems, 5.1.2 Atmos configurations, multi-zone stereo distribution, or any combination of eight channels that a custom installation demands.
Eight channels of matched amplification from a single power supply and a single chassis means absolute consistency. Every channel performs identically: the same power, the same damping factor, the same dynamic range, the same sonic signature. In a surround system, this means every speaker in the room is driven by effectively the same amplifier, eliminating the subtle tonal variations that occur when different amplifiers handle different channels.
For a Legacy home theater installation using powered speakers like the Focus XD or Aeris XD on the front channels, the i·V8 can drive all remaining speakers: center channel, four surrounds, and two height channels for Atmos. The powered speakers handle their own bass amplification internally, so the i·V8's 610 watts per channel provides more than enough headroom for the passive sections of the system.
For installations using all passive speakers, the i·V8 can drive a 7.1 system from a single unit: seven speaker channels plus a passive subwoofer channel. Add a Legacy powered subwoofer like the Foundation or Goliath XD, and the eighth channel becomes available for an additional surround, height, or zone speaker.
The i·V8 shares the standard i·V chassis dimensions: 17.5 inches wide, 15.6 inches deep, 5.8 inches tall. At 39 pounds, it's manageable for rack mounting and runs cool enough for fully enclosed installations. The 2-4 week lead time makes it one of the fastest Legacy products to deliver.
