The Focus XD is the powered evolution of the Focus SE and the entry point into Legacy's Masters Collection. Each tower houses a six-driver, four-way system: a 1-inch AMT super tweeter, dual 4-inch AMT midrange tweeters, dual 7-inch graphene-filled carbon fiber midwoofers, and dual 12-inch subwoofers powered by a 750-watt ICEpower amplifier module. The speaker can be configured in fully active, biamplified, or crossover-only modes. A natural companion for Legacy's Wavelet room correction technology.

The Legacy Audio Focus XD is the speaker that makes Legacy's flagship technology accessible to a broader audience. At $10,950 per pair, it borrows the same fundamental design philosophy as the Aeris and Valor (integrated powered bass, Air Motion Transformer tweeters, and DSP crossover management) in a package that fits comfortably in a living room, den, or dedicated listening space.
The Focus XD has been one of Legacy's best-selling models for a reason: it delivers 90% of the magic of Legacy's statement products at a fraction of the price. For many listeners who audition the full Legacy lineup, the Focus XD is where performance and value intersect most convincingly.
Each Focus XD tower features a five-driver, three-way design with powered bass. A 4-inch Air Motion Transformer handles the treble with the speed and detail that defines Legacy's sound. A 7-inch midrange driver covers the critical vocal and presence frequencies. And dual 12-inch subwoofers, powered by a built-in 500-watt ICEpower amplifier, deliver bass response down to 20Hz.
Like the Aeris XD, the Focus XD's internal amplification means your external amplifier only needs to drive the midrange and tweeter. The sensitivity is rated at 95.4 dB, which means even modest amplifiers can drive the passive section to room-filling levels. A quality 30-50 watt integrated amplifier is more than sufficient for most rooms.
The 24-bit DSP crossover provides the same bass management flexibility as Legacy's more expensive models. Level, frequency, and phase adjustments let Dave fine-tune the powered bass section to your room's specific characteristics during installation.
The Focus XD stands about 52 inches tall, substantial enough to deliver full-range performance but proportioned to complement a living room rather than dominate it. The cabinet work uses the same furniture-grade construction as Legacy's flagship models, with the same range of standard, premium, and exotic finishes.
For homeowners who want exceptional sound without dedicating an entire room to audio equipment, the Focus XD is an ideal choice. It works beautifully in open floor plans, living rooms with mixed-use layouts, and medium-sized dedicated listening rooms. The controlled dispersion pattern means it images well even when positioned close to side walls or when the listening position isn't perfectly centered.
Dave has installed Focus XD systems in rooms ranging from 12x15 feet to open-concept great rooms. The internal powered bass and DSP crossover give him the flexibility to optimize the speaker's performance regardless of room size or layout constraints.
Many Legacy Audio owners start with the Focus XD and later move up to the Aeris XD or Valor as their listening space evolves. Legacy designs its products so that upgrading is straightforward: the same amplifier that drives a Focus XD will drive an Aeris XD, and the sonic signature across the lineup is consistent. You're not changing brands or starting over. You're going deeper into the same sonic philosophy.
For clients who already own the Focus XD and want more, Dave can discuss upgrade options that make the most sense for your room and listening preferences. Sometimes the answer isn't a bigger speaker; it might be acoustic treatment, a better amplifier, or a source component upgrade that unlocks more of what the Focus XD can already do.

Every room is different. Dave will bring the Focus XD to your home, set it up, and let you hear the difference for yourself. No pressure, no obligation, just great sound.
